yes. my baby had it from birth. refluxed so severely he held his breath to protect his lungs and he turned blue- it’s called apnea- he went home on a monitor. this was BEFORE he’d eaten anything!

now you’ve got to go to http://www.marci-kids.com and find the PROPER dose
of PPI for him!
his reflux sounds severe, and you’ll have to push for proper medication to help heal his poor esophogus and to make him feel better…

unfortuntely they don’t know everything- they are not pharmacologists-
not sure what to tell you- we all gave advice- you gotta follow your baby’s needs- if 2 doses of prevacid w/ zantac inbetween takes care of the pain then that’s what you do- if following the dr to the T works for your baby, then that’s what you gotta do…not that I can tell…[Read more]

I don’t have that answer off the top of my head, but I DO have zantac dosing off the top of my head, as well as tons of other info, LOL!
I am so grateful to everyone who has stuck around to help newcomers!

try the 7.5mg 2 x a day & give the zantac, too- just make sure to space it about 4hrs from the prevacid
zantac max dose is 10mgs per kilo
I would start there and give in 2 doses- they can be ‘uneven’ doses- more at night if needed or more in day/morning if needed
unfortunately a lot of this is trial & error, but you’re getting there!

adding cereal to breastmilk doesn’t really work…I’m sorry to say..there are enzymes in the breastmilk that break down the cereal

IF it’s something in your diet, it takes a while to build up (the offending proteins I mean), so while it’s not alltogether ‘worthless’ to track your diet, it won’t help IF it’s something ‘major’ like milk or soy (the main culprits- others have found more but let’s not go there yet!) because those take 2 or even 3 weeks to clear out of your milk.…[Read more]
