I vote for caracream. you use either prilosec or prevacid. I’d go for the prevacid, only bcse most babies seem to ‘start’ with prilosec & then wind up with prevacid. that was us. we used caracream with both:

reflux can affect everything- eating, sleeping, pooping, etc.
I’m not sure if you’ve ever had heart burn, but it hurts!
there are grown adults who go to the emergency room thinking they are having a heart attack and it’s reflux….
also, I’m sorry to say, that 5hrs is considered ‘sleeping through the night’

until you get the reflux under control at night, there is not much you can do
I would split the prevacid dose ‘unevenly’ and give the higher dose/portion in the evening & see if that helps

also if you have any zantac around (or pepcid or axid or tagament) you can give that, too- just give 4hrs seperate from the prevacid.

yes you can mix the zantac & the mylanta
use a 1ml syringe and draw up the zantac then draw up some mylanta
or just mix the 2 in a little medicine cup (like what comes w/ nyquil- or children’s liquid, etc) and then draw it up

is this a ped or ped GI? seems like if it’s your ped, that it might be time to get to a ped GI. why are you thickening again? I would think that’d go against DGE? if she even has that?

14.5 divided by 2.2. = 6.6 kilos
max dose for weight is 10mgs per kilo so
10 x 6.6 = 66 mgs total for the day

bottle should say 15mgs/ml
so divide 66 by 15 = 4.4 mls total for the day of zantac, given in two doses
(they can be split up ‘unevenly’ w/ a higher portion given at the worst tome- am or pm)

erin (& I & others) would recommend getting a sling so you can hold her in-arms as she sleeps and not tire your arms out and also so you can do other ‘thing’s beside hold her

I also made the HUGE MISTAKE of stopping the zantac. baby shrieked/howled so much he lost his voice! so pitiful!

she posted about this not too long ago…

I think if aspiration isn’t a factor/concern and if baby is ‘old’ enough you can add oil to the milk? and/or add a lot of good fats to your own diet: avocado, avocado oil, flax seed oil, olive oil…
