Zantac and a 13 day old.

Hello.

I am new to the site. My son is 13 days old. He has just been diagnosed with Reflux. His Dr. Prescribed 1ml Zantac Twice daily for him. I have picked up the medication from the drug store, but I’m hesitant in using it. I was wondering if this is really safe for such a small child?? Any information would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS from a FIRST TIME MOM.

it’s going to sound like all of us are drug-pushers around here, but we’ve all been through HELL, so you’ve stumbled upon a group of mamas (and the occasional father, and other caretakers) who are STRONG in their opinions, as we all feel like we KNOW how to help newcomers and have them get STRAIGHT to the help they need, rather then messing around w/ doctors who don’t know what they’re talking about…

so: YES zantac is safe. and I/we will help you figure out the maximum dose for your baby’s weight. I bet there is room to increase!!!
