Now that Ben is approaching the one year mark, I’m considering a milk trial. I have tried adding hidden dairy to my diet, and can’t tell one way or the other if it bothers him. So, my thinking is that feeding it directly to him, I will get a clearer idea.
Anyway, what would you try first, yogurt or cheese?
I did yogurt first and noticed nothing. I didn’t even wait the 2 weeks and went on to other things. Daycare kind of helped as everything they had there had cheese or some sort of milk product in it. I called it “trial by fire” and lucky for us he has been on a regular diet now for 4 1/2 weeks successfully. Hope it goes well for you too! I think Ben is just a little older than Owen if I remember correctly!
I think maybe start with hidden dairy, like cheese in crackers- maybe baby goldfish or kashi crackers or cheddar bunnies…see how he does with that…then maybe try yogurt if the hidden dairy went ok…
I just LOVE the lillypie photo- reminds me of my babies somehow
Laura – It must be the sun hat???, and the pic was taken at the beach… where, I’m sure you are often! Good idea about the crackers. I actually did start yogurt yesterday and gave it to him again today. So far, so good. I hope it works because he LOVES it! I will probably try the crackers too as he is in serious need of other finger food/snack options.
must be the hat…the almond shape eyes, the cute cheeks…
he’s just such a cutie!!!
as for the crackers, I recently ‘discovered’ baby goldfish (found them at target actually!) – they’re a good size- ari just spit the regular ones out- too big-and breaking them is a crummy mess…same for the bunnies- I like that they’re more ‘healthy’ (or are they, lol!) but they’re too big…I’ve been breaking the organic sesame street crackers (earth’s best maybe?)- they seem more nutritious and not so hard to break (although I feel bad about breaking off Big Bird’s beak and Elmo’s eyes, LOL!!!)
