I had a pedi appointment the other day that I thought was going tot go much better than it did. Mckenzie has been struggling with excessive gas, abdominal cramping/tensing, arching back, feeding refusal, mucousy nappy, crying before/during/after feeds, ‘sleep feeding’, fussiness etc. etc. The pedi agreed that she had GERD and prescribed Losec twice daily. But then he would not believe that she was experiencing any other gastro discomfort. He would not believe me when I discussed her symptoms that I think are related to a dairy intolerance. It is so frustrating! He has requested a stool sample and then tried to tell me that I mist be having ‘fedding problems’ and that i need to see an LC and did I feel stressed? He was really rude and told me that I was ‘panicking about her weight loss’. Therefore I have made an appointment to see a paediatrician that specialises in food intolerances/allergies. Why do Drs make mothers feel so bad?
