Does it matter if the rice you are eating while doing TED is white or brown? I have been eating white rice but I noticed most other rice products are made with brown rice. My sister has IBS and has not been eating brown rice because it makes it flare up. I didn’t know if it would have the same effect for reflux.
I think really the only difference in the 2 is a nutritional difference. Meaning that the brown rice is loaded with fiber which is why it would irritate IBS. I am a dietitian and of course we always promote brown rice over white, but I am not sure when it comes to TED but I would think you would be fine with brown just may increase gas b/c of the fiber?? HTH.
