What's the MARCI dosage for Nexium?

The Dr. prescribed Nexium 20mg for ds. He said if things don’t get better in two weeks he would raise it. I tried looking it up on MARCI kids and I couldn’t find the dosage for Nexium.

Is it listed somewhere?

Does anyone know what it would be? My ds is 23 lbs.

I did some quick math & used 3.5mgs/kilo

and came up with 36.75mgs a day

this is a GUESS. a COMPLETE GUESS.

because nexium is ‘stronger’ than prevacid and

a ‘high’ dose of prevacid would be 3.5mgs per kilo,

so I started there…

THis is just our experience……

A lot of it depends on severity. Carson was put on 40 mg once a day by his GI. He is 7 mos and 17 lbs. That didn’t cover it completely so he upped it to 40mg two times per day. He is on the soluble powder packs. Now we have great coverage for his reflux. Hope this helps.

Ashlynn takes Nexium 20mg total for the day. I give her half in the am and the other half before dinner. At one time we was on the powder form but have switched to the pill. Like Laura said Nexium is a stonger med so the dose might be different. I could never find a Nexium dose on MARCI.

Oh Ashlynn is 15 months and weighs 27 lbs
