Hey ladies, Seth is back from the GI. I was on pins and needles all morning waiting for DH to call me! Anyway, good news I guess. He thought Seth looked really good, his weight and height percentages are finally within about 10% of each other and overall GI thinks his reflux is improving and eventually he will outgrow this. He was real pleased we’ve been able to add ice cream and thought this was a good sign too. For the flare ups, he said to use TUMS as needed (exactly what ya’ll said, who needs the dr with you guys!) and other than that to continue status quo with the Prevacid and Pepcid Complete regimen. He said we could do tests but did not think they were really necessary at this time and also did not know how conclusive they would be. I am relieved about the testing but on the other hand disappointed they still don’t have an answer for us why he still refluxes. I guess we’ll just keep hanging in there.
Oh, oddly enough I went to the drugstore at lunch to get some more TUMS and the children’s and smooth dissolve ones have exactly the same ingredients! The kid’s version is a cherry flavor and has the pediatric dosing though so I got those. Thanks for the suggestion. We used to use the Smooth Dissolve ones all the time but ran out and I forgot about them when we added the Pepcid.
