to the farmers market today. I find that lately, I have chosen to just stay home, mostly because I don’t want to deal with a cranky, reflux-y, constantly spitting up baby while we are out.
But, we all need the fresh air, so once Kaden wakes up (he slept through the night 2 nights ago and again last night), I am going to feed him, put him in the car seat, snap him into the stroller, make sure he has a thick bib on and just go!How sad is that, that this is a big enough step for me to have to post for you all to read???Anyhow, baby steps, baby steps…………I am going to call the Dr again this week as the crying is once again starting to get worse, time for a med change I think, which is what he indicated last time if the increased dose of ranitidine wasn’t cutting it.Have a great day everyone!June 14, 2008 at 11:10 am #52572AnonymousInactiveGood Luck on your outing. I found that Cooper did much better when out in public.. I think it was b/c there was so much for him to look at that he didn’t really pay attention to the fact that he felt crappy and was in pain. i hope all goes well.

June 14, 2008 at 10:49 pm #52597AnonymousInactiveHOORAY FOR AN OUTING! I rarely went out when Sarah’s reflux was out of control. I totally understand the “prisoner” feeling!!! I hope all went well!
June 15, 2008 at 7:17 am #52602AnonymousInactiveYAY for getting out!! With my firstborn I stayed inside with him a lot and regretted it. So I took my screaming, refluxy, cranky Landen everywhere. If he cried then oh well. If people stared I’d say “don’t you just hate acid reflux?”
I also found that MOST of the time, Landen really like getting out. As Beth mentioned, they are seeing new things too & it captures their attention.June 15, 2008 at 10:55 pm #52645AnonymousInactiveHow did it go? I was hoping you would post. We, too, got out so little with Dylan when his reflux was so bad but went out a lot more with Carter and it was better for all of us.
Let us know how it went….. I am hoping well!June 16, 2008 at 12:19 am #52648AnonymousInactiveWell, he cried most of the time, but that is okay. We went for a walk to the grocery store near our house today as well, and the poor guy, just cried and cried. But then as soon as we got home, he was all smiles.
I need to get out as opposed to just want to somtimes. On Friday or Saturday, we do it all again as it is my 14 year old’s grade 8 grad next week and we need to pick up a few things to complete her outfit…………my 2 year old is probably going to the lake with his grandparents, so it will just be Kaden to take with us………….it is not that I care what people think about his crying, cause personally, I could care less about that. But, it is more the reason that I know he is crying from. Poor guy.
Thanks for asking though!
I think that I am going to call the dr and make an appt again, we go camping at the end of this month, so either he needs a med change, or the ranitidine dose once again needs to be adjusted. I want to have it all done prior to camping so we can (hopefully) enjoy ourselves!Have a good night -
