I am just curious what others think. I dont want to start a debate but want to hear what others think. I seriously think that autism isnt genetic but rather environmental or vaccines. Just my opinion.
But now that I am dealing with food sensitivities I am afraid to vaccinate because his immune system is underdeveloped. So I guess I just wanted to know if others that were dealing with this vaccinated and did their child end up ok?My son is on a delayed schedule (vaccines) but lately I havent done any because I cant figure out what is going on with him.We have no food allergies so I dont know where this came from:(March 29, 2009 at 8:37 pm #61878AnonymousInactiveDefinitely a topic that can start a debate, but I think there is a good sense of respect on this board, so we are all entitled to opinions, but I will tell you what we did. For Dylan, we were on the recommended schedule, never varied from that and got them over with. With Carter we started out that way but had an extereme (not the norm) adverse reaction at 2 months and then again at 4, so our doctors chose not to continue vaccinations.
If I were to have another baby (WHICH I AM NOT!!! 🙂 ) I would do the vaccinations, but I would break them up. They do quite a few at two months now (more than even when Dylan was a baby) so I think it is pretty harsh on their systems. I would still vaccinate as I am definitely pro vaccinations even with Carter’s issues now, but I would break them up. Even if I had to do one a week for the 2 month, one a week for the 4 month, etc…. then I would do them that way even though that means so many more pokes, I think it is a bit easier on their systems than doing them all at once. Again, all just my opinion. If you are worried that his immune system is compromised, then that sort of puts you at a tough decision. If you don’t vaccinate, then with his immune system down, he could be more likely to pick up what the vaccinations pretect him against, but then he might have more of a reaction. If it were me, I would vaccinate, but on the delayed lighter schedule of once a week. But, I am NOT a doctor, and only know what you have written here so that is purely my opinion, and you totally need to do what you are comfortable with.Hang in there! This can be a tough subject that a lot of people are afraid to touch, but again, there is a lot of respect here and babies with reflux and some have other issues too, so there are a lot of factors that go into this decision.March 29, 2009 at 8:41 pm #61880AnonymousInactiveI answered your other post about vaccines. Good Luck with whatever you decide.
