We finally saw the ped GI today. We don’t have a ped GI in our town, so one comes over every other Friday from Denver, CO. It’s really hard to get in to see him. My ds is almost 3 months old. Anyways, he did a THOROUGH exam and asked a million questions. We have an upper GI scheduled for next week and got 5 cans of Elecare to start Nicholas on. The milk allergy test was positive, like I thought it was all along. Also got a script for carafate. I finally feel like someone is taking me seriously and can do something to help. I am so happy I almost hugged the doctor(seriously).

Thank you ladies for pusing that people take their kids to the ped GI. I would have never done it on my own, and it was the best thing I have done!!

I’m so glad to hear that things are on the right track! Good news! Curious- what type of allergy testing did they do? We’re looking at doing some for Hailey.

The kind of allergy testing we had done was where they collect some stool and put it on a special kind of paper and add dye to it. If the paper changes colors, it is positive for allergy. My ped GI told me that you can’t have the skin allergy test until they’re at least two years old.

Okay, so I was wrong on the last post. If the paper changes colors, it’s positive for blood in the stool, which is an indication of allergy. SORRY! Don’t want to give out wrong information.
