I’m not planning on switching anything as of yet. Averi’s scheduled for upper & lower endoscopies, and blood work for allergy testing next Thurs. BUT~I’m nervous that what if it comes back and shows NOTHING. I don’t know where we would go from there. She has been on elecare now for a couple weeks(4weeks trans., 2+weeks whole elecare). She is on the max dose of a compounded prilosec and also e-mycin for going on 3 weeks with NO improvements. I mean, none! She sleeps horrible, squirms the entire time she’s awake, has been “gulping” recently, hiccups are back, trouble passing bm’s, eating only 15-20oz/day, fussy fussy fussy. I don’t know what to do! I guess my thing is…should we consider switching meds if nothing shows up during her procedures? She is horrible about taking meds. The ONLY way I’ve been able to get her to take her meds is to squirt it in the side of her mouth WHILE she’s eating her bottle. Believe me, I’ve tried the “blow in face” approach and it DOESN’T work. Plus, she doesn’t do well “waiting” to eat. So, knowing that with prevacid you have to wait 30min before a meal. It just seems like it’s gonna be too difficult for her to even take the meds. I had considered Zegerid…BUT…For one, our ped. hadn’t heard of it (even brought in the info from marcikids). Not sure if the GI knows about it. I’ll def. be sure to ask. BUT~My other thing is that it contains sodium biocarb. That’s what’s found in mylicon/gas relief drops, right? She was HORRIBLE when we gave those to her. I’m just so nervous that she’ll do poorly on that too. Has anyone’s LO done poorly on Zegerid?
I’m probably overreacting and stressing out waaayyy too much. Especially since we don’t even know anything yet. I guess I’m just fearful of them STILL NOT KNOWING what’s wrong with my baby girl.Does anyone know how accurate the skin prick is vs. the RAST test for allergies? They’ll be testing her blood for milk, soy, corn, & corn syrup. I think there might be one more, but I can’t remember. Also, is there anything else I should maybe have them test her blood for?Alright, I think I’m all outta questions. 🙂valentine4mommy 2008-08-15 19:28:00 August 15, 2008 at 7:06 pm #55396hellbenntKeymasterread this:
