If it’s not one thing it is another! So little Miss Taylor has gotten the Stomach Flu for Christmas! I don’t remember asking Santa for the Flu!!! She started vomiting Saturday night, didn’t think much of it but then all of Sunday morning vomiting very violently, and then explosive diarrhea sunday night, spiking temps! Yep, it’s the stomach flu! Thank goodness Walgreens is open 24 hours including holidays, I had to run out at 2:30 in the morning to get Feverall suppositories since she couldn’t even keep medications down and pedialyte! UGH! I’m just glad we had no plans for Christmas, just staying home with the family! I hope this passes really soon, and she doesn’t give it to Alexis!

December 25, 2006 at 1:43 pm #21026AnonymousInactivePoor sweetie. What a way to spend her first Christmas.
We all had it a few weeks ago and it sure was miserable. I hope she has a shorter course than Myles had. He had it for six days! Sounds like you know just what to do. That’s what being a second time mom does for you, hugh?
Well, I hope you have a Merry Christmas anyway and I hope little Taylor is feeling better soon.

December 25, 2006 at 7:22 pm #21030AnonymousInactivePoor little girl! She just can’t catch a break this winter! Hope she gets over it quickly, and the rest of you don’t catch it.
December 26, 2006 at 2:06 pm #21051AnonymousInactiveOh no! Hope it’s just one of those 24 hour ones. Seems like ’tis the season!
December 26, 2006 at 10:40 pm #21098AnonymousInactiveI hope she is feeling all better now….those stomach viruses are so bad this year.
December 27, 2006 at 12:00 pm #21134AnonymousInactiveHow is Taylor feeling? Maybe you will have to make a special day for her. I think even when they are sick Christmas comes first. I can remember my boys having the flu one year and they unrapped presents with a trash can by their sides. Very sad site but they were happy.
December 27, 2006 at 6:31 pm #21158AnonymousInactiveWe are on Day 4 of this and there are moments that I think she is getting better but then the projectile vomiting starts again! It is hard enough trying to get her to eat when she is not sick! UGH! We went to the doctor today to make sure it is nothing else and yep, just the stomach flu! On top of that her 2 top teeth are trying to come in, my poor baby!

December 28, 2006 at 5:09 pm #21226AnonymousInactiveI think her stomach is better, but her throat is completely raw since she wasn’t able to keep any medications down, no prilosec since Saturday. She got her first dose yesterday, so the poor girl is hungery but every time I put a bottle in her mouth she starts crying and pulling away after 1 sip. I called the GI today and he started her on carfate to help coat her throat and give it time to heal! Everything is against me in feeding this child! She is really lossing weight now since she can’t eat, I haven’t even attempt her baby food yet since I can’t even get her to drink 1 oz of anything!
December 28, 2006 at 7:15 pm #21230AnonymousInactiveWhat a bummer. I sure hope the Carafate helps her.
December 28, 2006 at 8:14 pm #21234AnonymousInactiveIf she takes a bottle, she ends up vomiting in her mouth everything that she takes! I’m at a loss now!
December 29, 2006 at 9:21 am #21256AnonymousInactivei know its easier said than done, especially when its difficult to feed and difficult for taylor to eat (something you and i know very well) but once she feels better, she’ll make up for it and gain back whatever has been lost. i think its especially important not to try to feed if she is resistant in any way. take a deep breath and remember these viruses are shorter than they feel.
now on the practical side, can you dilute her formula and see if that will help? is she eating solids? and one more thing…carafate is the best. really helped us in these situations…
