Stomach Flu

UGH! Things were finally going very well with Miss Alexis. She was eatting well, and snacking like crazy! She was finally putting the weight that she loss from her surgery back on and she was so happy. The weather has been wonderful, so she has been able to go outside and play! Well, now she has a stomach bug, vomiting all yesterday and today diarrhea! DH has diarrhea today as well. So of course she is refusing to eat anything but she is willing to take little sips of water here and there! It is just so frustrating everytime I feel like we are actually accomplishing something good, we take so many steps backwards. I felt like I was finally ready to have this baby since Alexis was doing so well, but now…UGH! I’m scheduled for an induction on Thursday and my body is so ready for it, but I just hate to leave Alexis with my parents in this horrible condition since all she wants is her mama! And DH since he is more of a baby then she is when he is sick is no help. I should be having a relaxing last few days before the induction, maybe some shopping, a nice dinner etc…I guess that is just very delusional on my part! Instead I’m just trying to make sure Alexis is well hydrated while I do a ton of loads of laundry! Sorry for the venting, I know it’s not her fault she’s sick nor DH’s, but I don’t feel good myself and would like someone to take care of me too! So here’s my own selfish BOO HOO! Sue – you’re not being selfish at all! I don’t blame you one bit – you
have been through so much and finally got to see your little angel
happy and healthy and this would be too for me to bear too and I’m not
pregnant!

Can your parents or anyone come help out for a few days to keep her hydrated so you can relax a bit?

Meanwhile, I am SO GLAD to hear that Alexis was doing so well before
this bug hit. Hope she’s back to her happy, eating self soon.

Sue- I can imagine how frustrated you must feel! It’s so great when they finally start to do well, and then something hits…it feels like one step forwards and then two steps back. But hopefully this will pass very soon and she’ll be back to her old (new) self.

I know how you feel about wanting some time for yourself before your delivery… sorry it didn’t work out that way for you (me neither). I have to say that the hardest part of being in the hospital for Hailey’s delivery was all the worry that I had about someone else taking care of Sarah when she was sick. It was all I could think about…I even tried to get discharged less than 24 hours later so I could go home and see her again. If I could do it again, I would have tried to push it out of my mind so I could enjoy the magic of Hailey’s birth. Try not to worry about Alexis (I know it’s hard). But she’ll be fine with your parents.

Sue – I am sorry to hear that Alexis does not feel well, I hope she gets better soon, it is good that your parents can help out, please try to relax and get some rest yourself, and keep us posted.
