Stinky Poo?

It seems like since we started Lielle on Prevacid that her BMs and sometimes her gas are really stinky. She doesn’t seem constipated like she did on Zantac and the texture is normal. She’s exclusively BF and has MSPI so I don’t really think it’s my diet.

Has anyone else noticed Prevacid doing this? It’s compounded but with no flavor added (she seems to like it so far).

It also seems like she’s spitting up large quantities and more frequently the past couple of days although she doesn’t seem to be in pain over it like she was- any ideas what that’s all about?

Sometimes silent refluxers will start to spit up once they are on meds because it doesn’t burn as much so they don’t fight to keep it down.

I’m not sure about the stinky gas. My guess is that it’s food related, but that doesn’t mean it’s bothering her. Or, it could be the sodium bicarb which is used to compound the medication. As long as she’s moving her bowls and is not uncomfortable, it’s probably nothing to worry about. My dh and one of my dd’s can stink up a house with their continual smelly gas but they aren’t in any discomfort from it. It’s the rest of us who suffer.

Does is smell like sulphur?? That’s what my ds smells like lately, getting stronger too! Otherwise normal green/yellow and seedy/loose…

Lara, I didn’t pay attention to whether or not Ariella’s b/m got smellier after she got on the meds but her poop STINKS!!! And it’s pretty bad…You got me thinking now…hhhmmmm…
