!st set of tubes for and 2 for the other

Had our Ent fu today for both girls. And guess what?

Ash needs her first set because of remaining fluid and Dankia second set plus adenoids. They will have surgery the same day. Has anyone had experience with anenoids being removed? The both passed the hearing test but when they did the tempangram(?sp) They both had flat line and Danika’s was flat last visit.

Danika first set only lasted 9 months.

Landen has tubes too since Jan. They were going to remove his adenoids also but decided he was too young. A friend of mine has a daughter that had hers removed before she turned 3 and she said the surgery itself was not that bad, but that the drainage from where they cauterized (sp) the adenoids out was kind of smelly and gave her poor DD bad breath. her DD kept begging to brush her teeth b/c the smell bothered her. I think they gave her a special mouthwash but she didn’t know not to swallow it, so they had to deal with it until she healed. Hopefully others will post their experience.

GOOD LUCK! I’m sorry they both have to have surgery. I’m praying that Landen’s tubes stay in for a while. His big bro has surgery coming up for a hernia and lots of appts. for his sensory issues and I am feeling a bit too exhausted to go through any more procedures with the little one right now. LOL

Owen had his second set of tubes and adenoids out Feb 29th. I would say it was a longer recovery than the first set of tubes alone. He did have horrible breath for about a week and didn’t sleep or eat great. But he’s doing well now. And he’s already had his first infection with his new set of tubes!! He’s my exceptional child, if theres a rule of thumb, he will break it!! I thought he would do better with the second set and removal of adenoids, but I think he was thinking more along the lines of financing the ENT docs new car………. His first set lasted 6 months, I’m praying the second set will last closer to a year….. I never heistated for a second getting them in again b/c his speech was really delayed for his age I thought, the docs never seemed concerned. But in the last 2 weeks he has started to talk like crazy. His favorite word of course is “MINE!!” Good luck!!
