Soy Oil Okay? Really? How long to reintroduce?

Hi.

Is it really okay to eat things with soybean oil and soy lethicin (sp.)? Have any of you who are breastfeeding a baby with milk and soy intolerance tried it? I am scared to try it, but it would make things a lot easier if it is true.

Also, when is the appropriate time to try to reintroduce milk and soy into my diet? I have heard conflicting opinions. One doctor told me after an entire year, and another said 5 or six months. What has everyone here done?

For us, I was not breastfeeding, but Dylan STILL at 6 years old is fine with soy oils (and was when we started foods) but STILL reacts horribly with soy proteins. At least for us, this is absolutely true…….

I think it depends on the child. I have heard some that can tolerate it and some that cannot.

I have heard anywhere from 3-12 months as when to reintroduce milk and soy. I tried after 3 months and it was a no go. I have no intentions of reintroducing for a while even though he is a year old now. I have him on formula now but was exclusively bf for 9 months and then partial bf until 1 year.
