Okay so Conner has been switched to Prosobee…and of course the poor baby gets every *side effect* from it. He is doing much much better, no more rashes, some fussiness when hungry and tired.

Anywho….My baby is constipated. Is there anything I can give him safely to help relieve himself? I gave him 1 ounce of warm water and he did eventually have a BM about 30 min later. But I also heard that water isn’t good for a baby so young. Do you think Pedialyte would do the

same and help him have normal BM’s.

I also gave him some Mylicon drops which helped aswell, and the leg movements and tummy massages didnt seem to do anything.

Any advice is welcomed, I just would like Conner to be comfortable again.

Thank you once again Hellbennt. I was wondering if anyone knows the amount I can give conner for Miralax or benefiber? Is he to young at 6 weeks to use it for constipation?

I have done the warm water thing which helped, but then made him worse afterwards. I am not going to try pedialyte and Karo syrup in his bottle.

You can call the pharmacist and give them a current weight and they can give you the dose over the phone!!!

Well I am def. thinking that Conner has MSPI. I just got off the phone with my doctors office and im waiting to hear from my actual doctor.

Conner did very well for a few days on Prosobee, his rash went away, he had normal BM’s, no more fussiness, no more spitting up, and just generally a very happy baby. It has now been almost a week since putting Conner back on soy, and all the symptoms are coming back, with the extra issue of constipation. His rash is coming back, starting at the back of his head, no BM’s, extreme fussiness, spitting up again.

I just don’t know what to do anymore. I am at my wits end, and I have no idea if my baby will ever be happy. Im exhausted, the constant crying is getting to me (I have PPD). I am just at a loss, and I don’t know what im going to do if my doctor refuses to write me a prescription for Neocate.

It WILL get better at some point – just remember that.

If you think Connor has MSPI & your dr. won’t prescribe Neocate then I would find a new dr – just my 2 cents.

Please take some time for yourself (esp since you have PPD). All of the crying does get so hard & unbearable. It’s important to get away @ least 15-30min a day (more if possible).

Hang in there… I’ve always found it easiest to have a plan w/ distinct starting & ending points (ie: we will give this until Wednesday, then we’ll do this, etc).
