The website Laura recommended is interesting. It really shows you what’s happening. Ryann is a snorer and mouth breather. She has really bad stridor and laryngomalacia. It is so scary sometimes! I finally found a pediatric ent in our area. He put a little scope up her nose that went down the back of her throat so we could see what was going on. The tissue is enflamed around her epiglottis and vocal cords, thus the high pitched sounds. and it is floppy tissue that falls over her trachea sometimes. It also it said to peak around 5-6 months. Just some info, so you can keep an eye on it. The ent docs. deal with reflux babies more than i thought too because they get frequent sinus and ear infections.
I also have an apnea monitor. And please listen to your gut on this one. You know your child best, and your the one sitting up at night listening to him take breaths. If anything, I’ve learned to be firm with the docs. these past 6 months. sarah
