I’ve fantasized about the day that I would finally get to post here … & here I am- finally!
I hope I’m not jinxing myself, BUT Evan has been sleeping WONDERFULLY the past 2-3 days. For nighttime he went from waking 3-5x/night (& even many nights ending up in our bed or the swing b/c he would never settle in the crib) to waking ONE time! He’s been going 7:30pm-2am & 2-7am.For naps he was only napping for 20-40min stretches. Now he’s been taking 1.5-2.5hr naps!!!!!I am so excited & happy. He seems more rested finally & I oboviously am too!Now I’m scared to death to do any food trials (w/ TED) b/c I don’t want to rock the boat… I think I’m sticking w/ mild things like fruits & veggies.October 7, 2008 at 4:33 pm #57493AnonymousInactiveOh Erin! October 8, 2008 at 12:40 pm #57514AnonymousInactiveoh erin! you give me hope! did anything change to make this happen? or did it occur out of the blue?
October 8, 2008 at 4:16 pm #57527AnonymousInactiveWe had like 7-8 days in a row of baseline diapers. Since I knew he was physically feeling okay I let him fuss a bit when he woke up @ 11:30pm (he usually woke like clockwork b/w 11-11:30pm). Dh & I had decided we would let him fuss for up to 20min. He cried for 3min then went back to sleep. Next night he didn’t wake @ that time… & then the rest just fell into place. For naps I did the same thing… let him fuss a bit when he woke after 45min & he went back to sleep. Then, the next nap he didn’t bother to wake.
I’m very pro-CIO when it’s appropriate (although I wouldn’t even call this CIO since it was really mostly just fussing). I would never have done this though had he not been feeling so well w/ good diapers. He also started sucking his thumb (finally!). My 2yo also started sleeping beautifully when he started sucking his thumb too.October 9, 2008 at 6:42 am #57549AnonymousInactiveYea, Erin and Evan!!!! I’m so glad to read your good news! Sounds like he is not in any pain anymore — sleeping past the 45 minute mark was always how I could tell our boys’ reflux/tummy pain was really under control 🙂
