After the he*#ish week we had with teething last week…this weekend was WONDERFUL! Sarah was so happy all weekend and DH and I thoroughly enjoyed her.
The exciting thing she did today was to get into sitting from her belly! She woke up from her nap and when I went in to get her, she was sitting up in her crib!!!!!! I wasn’t totally shocked by that because she can pull herself to stand in her crib. (by grabbing the bumpers and then the rail) BUT I put her on her back on her play gym this evening while I folded laundry and the next thing I know…she’s sitting up!?!?!?!?!??!?! I couldn’t believe it!
I watched her do it again later and she rolls to her stomach, pushes up on all fours, and then “backs up” until she’s sitting! SO CUTE! She is such a little monkey! It’s exciting she can do it all by herself without the help of the crib to pull up on.
Sarah also attempted her first few “steps” with crawling. She can get to all fours, but yesterday she figured out how to move her arms/legs a little to get going. She only got about a foot before she gave up, but it was neat to watch! Won’t be much longer and she’ll be off and running!
Had to share some good news after a trying week! (and YES her tooth finally did pop through!!!)

Trace sat up 2 weeks ago and i was in shock!!
theyre getting so big!! time flies!!Trace still hasnt had a tooth come up though…he has been teething like crazy for months.
November 19, 2006 at 8:38 pm #18449AnonymousInactiveThat is soooo cool!! It must have been so cute to see. I can’t believe we are still waiting for Abby to get a tooth – she is over 2 months older than Sarah. I guess it shows how different these little sweeties can be!!

Glad to hear she’s feeling better.
November 19, 2006 at 9:13 pm #18453AnonymousInactiveNatalia – How does Trace get into sitting? From his back/side/stomach? I don’t think Sarah is doing it the “textbook” way…but it works! I am so thrilled she can get to sitting by herself now. She has been sitting up by herself and playing for almost 2 months but I’ve always had to sit her up. It’ll be great and less frustration for everyone if she can get into sitting all by herself!
Robin – That is funny how much teething can vary. My ped. said first teeth at 2 months can be considered ‘normal’ and first teeth at one year can be considered ‘normal’. She said it’s one of the few developmental things that is SOOO varied! I read that Kayla is enjoying chunks of cheese…how soon before I can start foods like that with Sarah? I know it’s probably a ways off…just curious though.

Hearing your description of how she gets into sitting brought back so many memories for me… that’s EXACTLY how my Sarah used to do it! It was so funny, we always used to laugh when she did the backing up part. She was so chubby and sweet and it was hilarious to watch, dh used to make that “beep beep beep” sound that trucks make when they back up b/c that’s what it looked like. Thanks for sharing the news!
As for teeth, Hailey didn’t get her first one until almost 11 months old, and she started teething well before that.

Abby just started with the cheese chunks thing and is also eating saltine crackers and fruit puffs like a crazy kid. It is so fun watching them use their little fingers to pick up food and get it into their mouth. We just started that within the last couple of weeks because she was really showing an interest in being able to feed herself.
Hope things continue to go great for little Sarah!!

November 19, 2006 at 10:16 pm #18468AnonymousInactiveAidan did it the exact same way Sarah does!!!! It always cracked me up!!
November 19, 2006 at 10:22 pm #18469AnonymousInactiveBeep beep beep! I didn’t even think of that, but it’s a perfect way to describe it! I don’t think I’ll be able to watch her do it now without making the sound effects. LOL!!!
All of the baby milestones are so exciting!! It makes all the reflux nightmare worth it when they do something new and then smile at you really big!!
Robin – I apologize I got Kayla and Abby mixed up earlier. Sorry!!

November 24, 2006 at 7:30 pm #18886AnonymousInactiveYay! That is great! Justice is hardly ever on the floor so there is no telling when he will crawl and sit by himself. Big brother is too rough so I try to keep him in his jump jump or walker. By the way, I love the new pic of Sarah. She is soooo cute!!!!!!!!
Sorry to steal your post, but I noticed that Sarah is on 11 mg 3x a day. Is that of the 40 or 20 mg pkts?
November 24, 2006 at 9:52 pm #18900AnonymousInactiveShelby
Thanks! I just love that picture of her. She looks so sweet and innocent…HA!Sarah is on the 20mg packets. What is Justice on? We just increased her dosage last week and things have been GREAT! I’ve been reading that Justice is having a hard time. Sarah cut her first tooth two weeks ago and it was AWFUL! We realized it was her reflux more than the tooth so after supplementing mylanta for several days I just decided to go ahead and up her dosage of zegerid. She’s been a JOY ever since!
SHE EVEN STARTED CRAWLING TONIGHT!!!!! I’ll probably post that in about 101 other threads because I’m so excited about it. I know she’ll be a handful now but it was sooooo cute to watch her go!
