My five month old’s reflux is just getting worse, not better. He started zantac a couple of weeks ago, which initially seemed to be working miracles but less so now, and seems to be developing a tolerance to it. The inclined crib seems to help (asleep almost two hours now!!) but only helps if I can actually get him to sleep in there, he much prefers co-sleeping. Anyway, I have seen other posts highly recommending working with a specialist instead of the ped., since they know more about it. Do you agree? Baby’s reflux isn’t absolutely terrible, as he’s usually agreeable as long as he’s held and fed basically every hour (day and night)– but this is obviously not ideal for any of us, and I feel badly that he feels so unwell that he wants constant comfort.
If I do go the specialist route, any suggestions on how to go about finding one? (Richmond VA). I’ve also considered a chiropractor, but it seems logical to me to try the GI dr first. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Juli
