Relux getting worse?

Hello All

I exclusively breastfeed my little one. He is now 3 months plus one week. He is for the most part a silent refluxer (some times he will spit out). I have notice that over the past probably week and a half his reflux has increased noticeably.

He seems to burp up a lot of wind (I mean a lot). His reflux coincides with the burps. Everytime there is a burp, there is a reflux episode and I can hear the liquid splashing against his splinter. Sometimes there is reflux without the burp but that is probably 5 percent of the time.

I am on the TED. His poop is looking good.

I’ve heard that reflux peaks at about 4 months.

Does anyone have experience of their LO’s reflux getting worse and then hopefully better?

At what age did your LO’s reflux peak?

it does tend to peak around 4 months. have you been ‘controlling’ strictly from diet? if so, it might be time to add in some meds for a bit and then you can always try backing off…

He’s been on zantac for about a month now. This simply helps with neutralising the acid but has not stopped the refluxing. I have included others things in the TED but his poop looks good and there are no obvious signs that he is allergic to what I have included (well apart from increased refluxing).

I am wondering whether I might be overfeeding him (as now he takes both breasts). I simply don’t understand what is going on.

there might not be a stop to the refluxing

if it’s neutralized from your diet & the meds, then it sounds pretty good…

Thanks Hellbennt. I guess perhaps his reflux is peaking. I hope that is it and better days are on their way.
