That makes me think the problem is dosage all the more, since she was on Prilosec before. But her ped. was adament about waiting the two weeks out before increasing the dosage. She did relent and give us some Zantac today to get us through the time period. Thank goodness!! I really was about to lose my mind.

what does she weigh? I can help you figure out the maximum zantac dose for her weight

On Tues., she was 11 lb. 5 oz.

ok so let’s say 11lbs

11lbs = 5 kilos

zantac dose is 5-10mgs per kilo

so highest dose is

10 x 5 = 50 mgs of zantac total for the day

the liquid is 15mgs/ml (check your bottle)

so that’s 50 divided by 15 = 3.3

that’s 3.3 mls, total, over the course of a day of zantac at the highest dose of 10mgs per kilo

you can divide that up however works best- into 2 even doses or 3 doses or ‘uneven’ doses- for example if night is worse then 2mls at night & the other dose of 1.3mls – however you want to split it up
