Hi!
Welcome to the site! A few questions and thoughts:
Was he a fussy baby? Where there any reflux signs in his infancy??
It could def be reflux. There have been a few ppl that have come to this board with ” older” babies/toddlers that seemed to suddenly have reflux. This makes me question the milk. I know you took it away, but milk protein can build up in the system and can take a while to clear out, leaving symptoms to persist. With my youngest, he does not react to thing instantaneously. Sometimes it is a week after we trial something with no real obvious symptoms at first. This happened to him with cow’s milk (that was the most immediate reaction actually) soy, rice milk, oat milk among other things including banana & sesame seeds. We also suspect problems with wheat but are not 100% sure. It can be really tricky!!
I would not reintroduce milk until he’s been off of it long enough to really rule it out.
If you really think there is no intolerance, you could try the Zantac (I beleive that is what Ranitidine is) and see if it helps. Not many of us have had luck with zantac, but some do OK on it. PPI drugs are much more useful overall. PPI’s are prevacid, nexium, prilosec, zegerid.
I’m sorry you are dealing with this!! It seems like 2 months is a long time to blame pneumonia for vomiting like that. I’d call again to the doc and be persistent in having him checked out again.
Hopefully others will have some good ideas to add. Hang in there!
