Jackson is only a week or so away from being 11 months old and his reflux is stronger than ever (at least in volume; his Prevacid takes care of the acidity). I have had him on a dairy/ soy free diet for 3.5 weeks and strangely, he spits up more. I am going to keep it up until it is technically 4 weeks, but I am ready to start him back on regular formula.
My question is for those of you who have already been through this roller coaster. When your little ones got better, was it gradual or was it a quick recovery? I am losing hope that Jackson will outgrow this by 12 months. I am going to a pediatric chiro tomorrow. Anyone had luck with this? Does it even make sense to take a 10 month old to one?

Sleep problems was really the only sign of MSPI with her. As for outgrowing it by a year, there are a lot of kids that don’t…but I have also heard of spontanious reflux recovery so don’t lose hope. 🙂

He just slowly stopped spitting as much. and then right around Christmas (he was about 10 months old) I noticed that I couldn’t remember the last time he had really had a bad spitting day and then I realized later that he hadn’t spit up in days and then weeks. so for us it was gradual.

He has been pooping- sorry to any of you with weak stomachs- like 5 small poops a day! They are all tiny little balls like he is having trouble digesting the stuff. He was on enfamil gentlease and was going one to two a day, which I thought was normal. For about a week, he has been having major reflux episodes where he is choking and spitting up large volumes. I wanted to stick out the MSPI trial, but it is seeming obvious that he is not responding. I hate to give up so close to the 4 week mark though!I have not ever seen him spit up like he has lately. It is pretty extreme. Should I start him on a soy formula? Ugh! Just do not know what to do!!!

We had also tried hypo formulas and all milk based including lactose free formulas. I guess he was MPI but not SPI, now that I look back. I used to refer to him as “lactose intolerant” but I know the difference now.
When we put him on soy the spit up stopped drastically and his crankiness def imroved until he fully outgrew the reflux.Good luck. This must be so frustrating trying to figure out!!! I just wanted to share our experience with Kaden. -
