Question re: GI Doc

What does a GI specialist do? Obviously they look at the GI system, but if our pediatrician refers us to one (which there was mention of at our last appt and we are going back today) what can I expect?

Will the specialist be able to help us out if the pediatrician can’t? Because already, this is beginning to get very frustrating. I don’t know how some of you have dealt with this for so long! But I really am glad to have found you all!

I am also guessing that due to Kaden’s age, we would likely be referred to a pediatric GI Doc?

hello im very experianced in reflux and specialists.im not a dr but 2 of my children have it and ive been on a long roller coaster.the ped gi will start by asking what is going on and what your childs symptoms are he might order tests and start a med.they do help so much because they are specialized in this area.so i would def take him.hope this helps.
