Question for those who have survived the storm

My 6 month old, Drew, has reflux. He’s on Prilosec, so he’s a happy spitter . . . the meds seem to control the acid pretty well. He still wakes up a couple times a night, but I think I’m actually use to it now. I’m sure sleep training will have to take place after the reflux is gone.

My question is this . . For the past three weeks, Drew will have a couple good days in a row, where he only spits up a little three times a day or so, and then he’ll have a bad day, where he spits up after every feeding and in between feedings like in the past. Right when I think he might be getting better, it gets bad again for a day or so.

When your little ones got better, was it all of a sudden one day they were better, or was it like i described, a couple good days, and a couple bad, until the LES worked properly? And, at what ages did your little ones get better?

For us it was fairly quickly that she went from spitting a lot to none. But it seems now like it was fairly consistently that one day was a lot, then a little less each day, until nothing. My LO seemed to quit refluxing about 9-10 months.

I can tell you our sleep struggles still exist at 13 months, but our LO had MAJOR sleep issues for several months in the beginning so I think it’s just going to take time for us to help her work through them.

sylvia had a fundo—so she stopped immediately—sorry, i know that wasn’t any help. it took ME awhile to stop expecting her to spit up all the time.

If he is not in pain, then you are a very lucky mommy! spit up for us stopped at 18 months or so for Dylan and before a year for Carter. I think Dylan was an extreme but Carter was a bit more typical……
