Earlier this evening, while my husband was watching my youngest daughter, she became fussy and starting twisting and writhing. Thinking she was gassy, he tried burping her, putting pressure on her tummy, etc, until she spat up. In her spit-up, though, was some black (or VERY dark purple) tinges and streaks. Since then, she has been fine, but it had been 12 hours since her last dose of Prevacid, 2 hours since her last dose of Erythromycin, and 2.5 hours since her last feeding.
Is this something we should be alarmed about? We plan on calling her pediatric GI doc in the morning, but can’t find much on black in spit-up on initial web searches.
