My son’s doctor is about to change his medicine from Zantac to Prevacid. I was wondering if anyone had experience using it. He was responding to the Zantac, but his doctor said that prevacid would be better.

To me and I think many of the moms here prevacid has been a wonder drug. Depending on what type you get (compound (not the best from what I have been told) or solutabs (need to give on empty stomach and wait 30-60 min before feeding) ) you will have to adjust your los schedule a bit. Also as I am sure you saw in the groupie intro you probably should keep with the zantac for about 2 weeks until the prevacid kicks in. best of Luck, if you doc is willing to change without you having to ask then I would think you have a pretty good doc.

Thank you so much! I’m going to call Dr. Erinle tomorrow and ask for the solutabs. He is a wonderful doctor! We are so greatful to have him.

We have been using the solutabs for about 4 months now and they have really done great. She has no pain from reflux anymore!! Just make sure the dosing is high enough.
