March 21, 2012 at 8:42 am #70099AnonymousInactiveIdk why I couldn’t get it! He is still not doing well! Still screaming a vast majority of the day! We are at the hospital again this morning for an upper GI! But he is seeing one of my favorite doctors in the world so hopefully he will be able to help us
March 21, 2012 at 3:45 pm #70100AnonymousInactivewhy are they doing an upper gi? if they already did a scope and a ph probe i can’t imagine what they think they will find with an upper gi–they usually do it first—and it is usually useless. you sure seem to have some strange docs where you are.
it’s really weird that he was doing extremely well last week after tubes and in a week he is back to screaming most of the day.I think i’d be for driving farther to find some better doctors.March 21, 2012 at 4:43 pm #70101AnonymousInactiveThings seem funny
March 22, 2012 at 9:20 am #70102AnonymousInactiveThe doctor we are seeing said that the GI drs felt Logan had a problem with his pyloris or even his intestines. He recommended we do it for these reasons. He just called me and said it showed reflux episodes while doing the upper GI. He said he is going to touch base with the GI doctor but he thinks Logans problem is definitely reflux and he doesn’t understand why he was taken off his medications. He said he would give me a call back either today or friday
March 22, 2012 at 10:34 am #70103AnonymousInactivewhat kind of problem would they think he had with his pyloris? pyloric stenosis would be blatantly obvious long before now–so it can’t be that, plus, he would be projectile vomiting all the time and would not be gaining any weight–but his weight isn’t that bad. obviously it didn’t show any problem with his intestines, such as torsion–or they would have seen that.
an upper gi really doesn’t diagnose reflux—plus, you’ve already had a ph probe and a scope that showed only mild reflux. what were the results of his biopsies? they did do biopsies when they did the scope, didn’t they?what about the results of his ph probe? i don’t think you’ve ever told us what the results of either of these tests were, besides mild reflux, which would be relatively normal. How ,many reflux episodes did he have during his ph probe? were any of his reflux episodes considered to be extended episodes? what was his overall % of reflux? you should be able to get a report that tells all of this information. you should also be able to ask for a copy of the graph that was done during his ph probe–you have to make sure and ask specifically for the graph or all they will give you is the docs interpretation. really, you want both of these reports, though.it just doesn’t seem like anything they are doing or saying is making any sence—and your docs seem to be condradicting each other. i haven’t figured out why you haven’t gotten away from these people yet. they don’t sound like they know what they are doing.how come the GI docs never mentioned that they suspected anything about his pylorois or intestines to YOU before this time—they’ve been seeing him for quite a few months.March 22, 2012 at 3:53 pm #70106AnonymousInactiveI don’t know! I am so confused myself :(!!! I feel like some days are ok and some days are not! We are still having a lot of trouble eating but he is eating so I guess that’s good! We started his prevacid back after a phone call from his Dr. I am just praying it will make a difference. I just want my baby to be happy and I feel like no one knows how to do that!!!
