October 24, 2008 at 1:24 pm #57996AnonymousInactiveinteresting… Seth had hiccups all the time too in the womb!
October 24, 2008 at 2:27 pm #57998AnonymousInactiveoh no guys.. this baby DOES have the hiccups!! and its been more and more recently! i think i am gonna cry!
October 24, 2008 at 4:04 pm #58004AnonymousInactiveThank you Monty. I’m just so scared this one will have reflux too. I have hopes of having just one withtout it.
Aren’t hiccups pretty common with all babies during pregnancy? I have had two reflux babies and both had hiccups a lot. I thought that was just normal of all babies though.October 24, 2008 at 4:49 pm #58005AnonymousInactiveLauren, try not to worry too much ( I know, easier said than done), but all babies do have hiccups in the womb. When I say that Ben had them, I mean they were ALL the time. Almost anytime I moved or changed positions. Also, don’t let a few women’s pregnancy stories indicate how your pregnancy and baby will be. Each situation is different. Try not to worry about something that you can’t control now and will hopefully be nothing to worry about in the end.
October 24, 2008 at 7:41 pm #58006AnonymousInactivethanks naomi .. i think its just the underlining fear of having another reflux baby… just like shelby.. its actually scary! haha.. sounds silly.. but we all know what hell it is until they outgrow it.. and even then the mspi is likely to last even longer! ugh.
but thanks again for your words of encouragement 😉October 26, 2008 at 4:26 pm #58072hellbenntKeymasterso lauren, are you cutting out dairy & soy? what are your thoughts? I ask bcse I see you’re getting close. So exciting!! And you have a name, so sweet!
November 11, 2008 at 1:10 pm #58549AnonymousInactiveI’m really late contributing to this thread but I was scanning the TED posts (making sure I hadn’t missed any when I’ve been MIA the past few wks) & read through this one.
I certainly don’t have any experience w/ pregnancy & what to do since Brodie didn’t have any issues I didn’t consider changing anything w/ Evan. I think the cutting out dairy/soy for 2-3wks before sounds reasonable though!
I did want to add though (for Lauren & Shelby mainly) that Brodie had hiccups almost constantly in utero… & he had neither reflux or MSPI (or any intolerances). Evan had them sometimes, but not often… & (as you know) he has reflux & MAJOR intolerances. So, no worries… every baby & every pregnancy is diff’t!
I did want to mention one other thing. I know I just got done saying that every db & every pg is diff’t, but this is interesting to me… I had severe lactose intolerance w/ Evan for the 1st 2 trimesters. If I ate any dairy (even very small amounts) I was miserable for a couple of days. Bloated, intestinal pain, constipation, sleep affected, etc. It got a bit better the 3rd trimester but I still couldn’t drink milk or anything. I have no idea if this was a coincidence or a sign of things to come but just a thought.
Keep us updated. I’m so excited for you Lauren – you’re SO close 🙂
November 11, 2008 at 7:43 pm #58569AnonymousInactivethanks erin! that is funny about the lactose intolerance. did you have it at all before getting pregnant?? because the SAME thing happened to me! I actually never really drink milk.. but i started craving cereal while pregnant.. so i would add rice milk in (that is what shane drinks).. and i would be ok. one day we didnt have any.. so i added dh’s cows milk in the cereal..and i was sooooo nauseus!! .. so i started experimenting..and it def was the milk!
now it isnt too bad either.. but the beginning was horrible. maybe it has something to do with reflux and milk making it worse? because i have had bad heartburn since getting pregnant.anyhow! thanks for the input!4 more weeks!! 🙂 i am soooooooooo ready! -
