Poop problems..

Help! We are having poop problems.. he has been eating all the greens and all the oranges for a little while now. He will have a screaming fit then poop then be fine then scream again then poop again and then go through the cycle again. He drinks juice, and hes on Elecare. Hes allergic to milk so he cant have any of the milk based formulas. Hes been on Neocate and even that didnt help him with his reflux and milk issues….. anybody have any ideas on what could be going on. he was taking Miralax and i think that it was giving him gas, but now im not so sure…hes 9 months old btw

Sounds to me like he’s having a bad reaction to the solids – what happens if you don’t give him the veggies?

The Miralax should help. I doubt it was giving gas, it’s pretty gentle. I would more so think the solids were giving gas.

The ped said that the Miralax can cause them to have cramps and/or gas. He’s been eating solids for a while now, probably a month! This just kinda started all of a sudden.

I havent tried giving him no solids.

Hes been drinking juice for a long time and havent had any trouble. Whats the best juice to give him??

The best juice is white grape juice. It’s supposed to be the most gentle on the tummy. Stick with the baby brands so that there are no additives like sugar.

I personally wouldn’t give juice to any baby under a year old unless it is to help with constipation. We never gave it before a year & per her GI & ped, juice is extremely filling to them & tend to eat less food & formula than they should be. We now will give Ashtyn some apple juice as a “treat” very occassionally.
