I can’t even express how happy I am to tell you all that Paige has pooped ON HER OWN 3 times in the last 3 days!! I can even describe what a big deal this is for us!! She had been so terribly constipated and completely backed up that eating, sleeping, and of course pooping had been a huge problem for the last couple of months. After trying many things that all upset her MFPI, finally Magnolax has been working and not upsetting her little system at all! We are thrilled!
Now, another little miracle: as I am writing this, Paige is napping after falling asleep BY HERSELF (without crying) for the first time – ever! Usually we have to rock, sway, shush, swaddle, whatever it takes for however long it takes to finally get her to sleep. I was doing this, and she was fussing, playing, pullling at her clothes, playing with her soother and I finally gave up and said, well honey, you are tired and I guess you are going to have to get yourself to sleep because I can’t keep doing this. So I sang her a song, laid her down with her soother and blanket, she sat up and I put her back down, and then she stayed there. So I left the room and closed the door, fully expecting the screaming to soon start. After babbling a little bit for 15 minutes, she has now been silent for nearly 1/2 hour!! My heart is dancing – I’m so happy!!Oh please let this streak of good events continue!!!Thanks for listening!August 26, 2007 at 3:26 pm #41713AnonymousInactiveWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope the great news continues!!! I remember how overjoyed I was the first time Sarah put herself to sleep. It was precious and MUCH needed! CONGRATS!

August 26, 2007 at 6:44 pm #41727AnonymousInactiveThat is great news! I’m so glad things have gotten so much better. I remember when Bryce went through a period of bad constipation. It was horrible and such a relief when we finally found what helped him. I hope that things continue to go well and that she keeps getting herself to sleep too!

I certainly understand the frustration and worry that goes along with your baby having chronic constipation. I’m so happy you’ve found something that works for her. I hope the pooping and sleeping continues!!
I love your new ticker pictures! They sure are adorable children!August 26, 2007 at 7:10 pm #41731AnonymousInactiveYay! Wow, you guys must just be beyond ecstatic to have this big turnaround. I couldn’t be happier for you guys! SO lucky abou the naps. My dd was sleeping great and putting herself to sleep and all of a sudden she SCREAMS in her crib. Anyway, enough about me. I hope this amazing improvement continues! Awesome, awesome, awesome!!

August 26, 2007 at 7:51 pm #41737AnonymousInactiveWow!! It is so nice to hear how well she is doing. Constipation is miserable for babies. It def increased Landen’s appetite when we got his under control with the Miralax. I am SO glad she is better!! I hope this continues for you!!

September 19, 2007 at 1:02 pm #42913AnonymousInactiveJust a little update on our girl. The last few weeks have hands-down been our best ever with Paige!! She’s still up usually twice a night to eat, but I can handle that. I think I’d be hungry in the night too if I only drank Neocate all day! She’s falling asleep on her own for most of her naps, she’s relatively happy throughout the day, and we are keeping her bowels moving with the Magnolax. She is still refluxing, mostly silently, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering or hurting her. She even has 2 teeth now, and actually started walking a few steps last weekend (early, I know!).
We have decided to avoid ALL foods other than Neocate until at least her first birthday, because it just hasn’t been worth it for her, or for us, to go through the terrible failed food trials. I’m half-considering getting a badge that says “Please don’t feed me!” for when we go to our play-groups! It would be funny, but then I would have to explain everything, and people just don’t understand. I’ve had people say, “But she does fine on pablum though, right?” Uh, nope – no foods!!I was beginning to think we would never get through this, but I am so happy to say things are getting easier. I’ve long-ago accepted the fact that Paige isn’t an “easy” baby, and never will be, but we’ve finally found the right balance for her, at least for the stage we’re in now. Thank the Lord!!September 19, 2007 at 1:38 pm #42914AnonymousInactiveI’m so so happy you had a great week with her!! And YAY for the new milestone! She’ll be running soon mama! Sounds like she’s thriving on the neocate only. Mine is too (he only gets 2 small bowls of oatmeal a day, but really doesn’t eat much of it )
It’s so much easier when you find (and accept) what works for your lo and then sloooowly get ‘brave’ enough to try something new. I think age 1 might be a good time to try a food. I wish you the best of luck!!!September 19, 2007 at 2:35 pm #42916AnonymousInactiveOh Sheri. this is so great. I remember the day that things finally started to fall into place for my Benjamin. It is so nice to be able to enjoy your little one and to know that she is enjoying herself too. YEAH!!!!!
September 19, 2007 at 2:36 pm #42917AnonymousInactiveThat’s great news!! I’m glad to hear she’s doing so much better, and I hope it continues for you!
