As many of you know she was exposed to RSV in daycare….well she got it and they determined that on Monday when we took her in. Well she is getting worse and they want to see her back to do chest x rays because her breathing has gotten worse! My heart is breaking for her and I just want her to get better. I cant stand to see her in so much pain. So please keep our little Gracie in your prayers.
CharlaDecember 17, 2008 at 11:23 am #59645AnonymousInactivehopefully your little one will be well soon without any complications. i’m so sorry she got this.
i’ve only had one of my children get it, but he was 18 months old and you hardly knew he was sick except that he was wheezing.December 17, 2008 at 1:04 pm #59651AnonymousInactiveI’m so sorry to hear this. She’ll definitely be in my prayers!

December 17, 2008 at 3:44 pm #59667AnonymousInactiveThank you all so much! There are so many caring people here! Just an update I took her back to the doc and they did a bunch of test and x ray and she does have fluid in her lungs but they are not going to hospitalize her yet. He wants us to start doing breathing treatments 3x a day and just really keep watching her because while we were there they saw that she stops breathing. It scares me to death. But thank you all for your prayers and I will keep ya’ll posted.
December 17, 2008 at 5:21 pm #59669AnonymousInactiveI am very sorry to hear about this. My DS2 (landen) caught this nasty virus when he was 4 mos old from daycare as well. He had a pretty nasty case of it. It’s really hard to see them like this but it will get better. The breathing treatments will help a lot! Sending huge hugs your way!
December 17, 2008 at 6:08 pm #59674AnonymousInactiveI am so sorry!!!! I was trying to be so hopeful for you! Hang in there and know we will be praying. If you for one minute don’t like the way she sounds, or you get concerned, just go to the ER…..
Hang in there!!!
December 17, 2008 at 8:18 pm #59681AnonymousInactiveshe stops breathing and they don’t want her in the hospital????? was it only for brief periods of time?
December 18, 2008 at 9:41 am #59697AnonymousInactiveI’m so sorry to hear! I’d definitely get the ped to clarify what he means that she “stops breathing”. If you’re worried, or she’s just not sounding right, I wouldn’t hesistate to go to the ER. HUGS.
December 18, 2008 at 10:13 am #59699AnonymousInactiveThank you all so much. We are just trying to get through this. I will definitly take her to the ER if I see anything that doesn’t look right to me but in my opinion none of this looks right. I couldn’t believe they didn’t put her in the hospital especially with they way you could see how she was having trouble breathing because her little sides were sucking in and you can see her little ribs. The doc told me that when she stops breathing briefly its because she is gagging because of all the mucos. I just hate this I wish I could take it from her. I just told the doc though that I worry because we live an hour from the nearest hospital. She started getting sick on Saturday but everything has gotten bad since Monday. I pray that she gets over this soon.
December 18, 2008 at 12:16 pm #59700AnonymousInactiveis she at all, better, worse or the same? if it were me, i might bypass the ped and go to the er for a second opinion if she is the same or worse… if she is at all better, you are better off at home as the hospital is full of flu, germs, etc….. i am praying for you all!
Ann MarieDecember 18, 2008 at 12:45 pm #59701AnonymousInactiveWell she slept a little better last nite but as far as the way she sounds…to me it sounds the same and she still has the retracted breathing and severe wheezing. She is only eating 1oz maybe every hour and she can’t hold that down very well. She may hold one down and then the next one she vomits it up because she coughs so hard she chokes and gags and then up it comes. I tried pedialyte but she won’t have anything to do with that. I am just at a loss. I don’t know what to do.
