Hey there
Not sure where in Long Island you are…. we are in Westchester and our doctors are in NYC.
We see dr Sockolow at Cornell – she is amazing. I am not sure that she is taking more patients but i know that the rest of the ped GI in her practice prescribe PPIs.
We have in the past seen Dr Pitman at Mount Sinai – she is supposed to be wonderful. She is aggressive with meds and tests etc BUT SHE LACKS BEDSIDE MANNERS and is cold and bitter for whatever reason… but she has an amazing reputation for reflux…
Let me know if you are interested in any of these…
Barium swallows are good – yes, my son gags because he has a sensitive system and because his eating patterns are not well developed but you need to make sure that there is nothing else wrong. The pH probe would be great, as would an endoscopy… but i think that the doctors above would try a PPI before anything else.
