I posted this a few other places as well, but I really am not sure where this could fall into…my daughter has silent reflux and is currenlty on Prevacid…she has had an endoscopy done that revealed slight irritiation of her esophagus but the biospy was normal. so she was put on Nexium and carafate..That seemed to help great for a while…she was sleeping well and everything…and then one day it all changed…her naps went from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes…it seems that 30 min into her nap something is happening that is waking her up…her night sleep was bad as well, but that has improved some. Anyway, long story short…we wanted to get her off the nexium as it is such a powerful drug for a baby, so we had her on prevacid 22.5mg, and I went back to avoiding dairy and soy and gluten..that really seemed to make no difference with her naps, and her evening sleep was pretty much the same, so my husband wanted me to start trying to eat normal again. 🙂
Anyway, it seems taht she has started this groaning thing….she doesn’t cry and she never refuses to eat…but especially while she is eating solids, she will start to groan..now she has started groaning some during her play time…it is not that she sits there in pain and groans all day…she will do it for a period of time and then look up and smile and start to play. She also seems to be teething, but I wanted to ask other moms with MSPI baby’s if there childeren ever did this. My daughter has never had blood in her poop, but she does always seem to be burping (dairy or no dairiy). She has been seen by three different GI drs…two who told me they didn’t think that she had a protien issue and one that said maybe…anyone have anything to offer? My daughter us happy most of the day, and when she does wake up from her naps, if I go in and rock her, she does fall asleep…it is not like she is inconsolable or anything

My daughter doesn’t have any mucousy poops, or blood or anything…and this whole waking up while napping has been going on despite on milk or soy (even hidden)…actually some of her best sleep was when I first started the nexium and I did eat dairy
