Hey all,
Well, I take back everything I said about asthma and allergies and Robbie being on Singulair, etc. Saturday night we were going to leave him with his grandparents and go out. But he got a 103.3 fever. So we rushed him to this ped that his grandma knows and he said, his O2 levels are not acceptable (91-92), and he sounds really bad. So we were admitted to the local hospital and they said it was RSV with potential developing pneumonia. My poor peanut! They gave him this really wicked shot of antibiotics and he started to get better right away, though. He spent Sat and Sun in the hospital and now is home, sleeping like mad. He still doesn’t get just thrilled about his bottles but he has had 3 oz of juice, 6 oz of baby food and a 5 oz bottle today, so we are not doing too badly. He has really stopped the coughing and throwing up, which is a relief, and he hasn’t had a fever for a couple of days now.
I feel so horrible for the little guy, and awful that we didn’t even think to have him retested for RSV. He was tested in Jan, it was negative, and we never gave it another thought. Hopefully now that this ordeal is leaving us behind, we will be able to catch a break. Robbie at least deserves one!
