when u say up all night.. do you mean crying?

and where is his excema?

Yes and no. It usually takes a while to calm him down, but he will calm down and fall asleep and then wake crying and rolling all over the place and so on and so on all night long even if given benadryl.

His exzema is most noticable on his face.

I think goldfish would be considered hidden dairy, right? If so then yes. I put a sticker on his back in his sunday school class for them not to give him goldfish. However if any of the kids are eating it in his class and they drop some and he eats 3 or 4 then he reacts to that. I have actually bought another snack for his class and asked if they wouldn’t mind not doing goldfish at all. I know that probably sounds harsh, but I am so tired of the all night waking. I will say though if it is just goldfish it usually only lasts a day or so, but if it is actual dairy it will be a few days and nights of pure He**.

I think you know him best Shelby, and if you see problems whenever he has dairy, then he is reacting to it, irregardless of what any tests might say. And I personally think you’re right – he appears to be reacting to it, whether it would be called an allergy, an intolerance, or something else. Our western society puts so much emphasis on milk, when the fact is that many little ones simply cannot process it properly. Sure it takes more effort to avoid all dairy, but our kids can be healthy and happy and get calcium, fats and protein from sources other than milk if they have trouble with it. I don’t think we should strive for them to finally be able to tolerate something when they have definate reactions to it when they are small. That’s just my 2 cents worth! MFPIx22008-03-17 10:59:59

Hey, I know you are concerned with the weight gain, but I think that weight his weight is fan-TASTIC! My cousin’s little girl at her 18 month checkup only gained 8 OUNCES from her 12 month checkup, she was only around 18 pds. My 2.5 yr old daughter hasn’t gained weight in 4 months, she’s 28 pds! She was in the 75% if I remember correctly, but now, 6 months later, she’s evened off to 50% in both weight and height (confirming her daddy’s suspicion that shes perfect to him HAHA) So don’t worry so much…. 🙂 Enjoy your toddler!!
