Hi everyone, lo is 9 days into a neocate trial. So far, he’s been sleeping better at night (will actually sleep a decent stretch without waking) and seems to be in less pain during feeds ( the lessening of pain I attribute to bufferbabies and prilosec at marci kids dosage). BUT, he is not eating as much as he used to. He drinks 1.5-2.5 oz and then stops. Not really arching and screaming like he used to, just kind of like “I give up” and stops sucking. Could it be taste? He is almost 5 months old. My questions are:
1. Have any of you had this experience while transitioning their babes to neocate?
2. Also poops are really watery, diarrhea some of the time now. Soaks into diaper. Is this normal after 9 days?If it’s not diarrhea, then it’s mucousy stringy yellow/greenish w/a little of the black i heard comes along with neocate. He never had diarrhea before and the mucous is worse than it ever was on alimentum. Do you think his body is clearing out of proteins from alimentum?
I’m feeling so defeated, just want to be able to feed this baby normally. I hope I’m on the right path with him. Thank you so much for your input!Luzaria2011-08-12 14:53:31
