Hi all,
I’m new to this forum but have been active on a few other reflux forums in the past. This one looks fabulous and has lots of active members. Just what we need!DS (15months) was diagnosed with SR at about 3 months – he went undignosed for such a long time and it was hell!! He was on losec until a bout 9 months old when he “grew” out of the reflux thank god. We’re lucky I know. The last week he’s been miserable. He’s had bad breath, been in pain for no reason (nurafen doesnt help), he wont take his dummy (uses for sleep only) and hates going to bed and laying down. As soon as we get him up he’s as happy as larry and wants to play. He’s been very clingy too, and just not his usual self. We though virus, teeth blah blah. This morning I noticed a canine popping through. Just wondering if its possbile that his reflux is back and this is tied into his teeth appearing. He’s only just finished cutting his molars, so he’s been cutting teeth for about a month now.Any comments/experiences and suggestions would help. If its related to his teeth can we expect it to dissappear when his teething settles? Anything that can help?September 25, 2009 at 7:40 am #64052AnonymousInactiveReflux was definitely worse for us during teething (and also viruses). The increased saliva made things worse. Maybe try giving him some mylanta and see if that helps. Not sure, we were still on meds while teething, so I guess it was different for us. I’d personally try mylanta supreme, or since he’s older, pepcid complete. Dr. Phillips from marci-kids used to advocate for this product. Can’t remember the dose. We used to give Hailey half a tablet around that age, I think. Maybe someone on this site can help you with dose if you want to try it. Good luck.

Hopefully it is short lived and teething related!!!!Ann MarieSeptember 25, 2009 at 9:43 am #64055AnonymousInactiveLori is right you can give 1/2 tablet of pepcid complete ( probably bedtime) and that should help… if you don’t want to try that you could always give him a tums to see it helps.
November 27, 2011 at 8:15 am #69453AnonymousInactiveWe’re dealing with the same issue! DD is also 15 months and “grew out” of her GERD at 8 months after we decided to wean off the meds. Last two weeks have been awful -clingy, screaming through her sleep, and you can hear her refluxing (also SR) We’ve gotten through plenty of teeth between then and now and although it does come back a little, it’s never been this bad. I’m also hoping it’s just temporary but will certainly be keeping an eye on it. Does anyone have experiences with GERD simply returning FT after 6 months or so remission? Good luck and keep me posted!
