Sorry for such a glamourous topic, but Harry’s poops are dark green and tar-like. I know this isn’t totally good, but is it a bad sign? He’s been on Neocate since around 3 weeks of age, and has been off rice for 4 weeks today. Could it still be the effects of the rice? I’m also questioning now if he can’t handle the solutabs. My GI is out of the country right now, but we’ll be seeing him next Friday, when I’m going to push for either Zegerid or maybe Nexium… I remember Dagney had poops like this, but can’t remember when they got better…

I know that neocate usually has black stools so that could describe the tar color, but I think the green is usually a sign of an intolerance or a GI bug! I hope it is neither, but I still look at Cooper’s poop and when it is green he usually has an upset stomach for some reason. HTH.

NO NO NO Denise! This is PERFECTLY normal for NEocate poop. Anything other than this would be worrisome! If you go to the Neocate website, that’s exactly how they describe stool texture/color!
