Has anyone tried this to diagnose allergies/intolerances? Does it work? Success?
August 22, 2012 at 8:10 pm #70841AnonymousInactiveI had to google NAET. I am aware of what this is. I actually went to a man that was like a chiropractor that sort of did this. That is not why I went there though. I went because I used to have terrible headaches and he worked with getting the muscles to relax. He was explaining what all he did and used a technique like NAET to fix allergies. I thought is was weird but how he explained it made sense. So he worked with my husband’s air borne allergies. We were amazed that it helped him tremendously.
I had a different person try to help Quinton with his problems when he was a baby but it didn’t help at all.
A chiropractor that I went to while pregnant also used some sort of thing like NAET to treat allergies. She told me about it but I had no need for it.
I think that these sort of types of treatment are kind of weird and I would give caution to not get too involved in them because some of these things lead to some pretty strange stuff.
As far as something like this helping with food allergies I am not sure. If it is a true allergy then maybe it would help. If it is an intolerance or inability to break down foods properly then I doubt it would help.
Also many of these types of treatments take many treatments and cost a lot of money.
I don’t want to discourage you because this might be just the thing to help your child. So it might be worth a try.

I am just a little cautious because a friend of my got in so deep and so involved in that kind of stuff that she got to the point where she thought maybe she was a “healer”. She would “send energy” into herself and others to try to heal. I’m not saying you would get to that point but I would be leery of going to someone that does that kind of “treatment”.
I’m sorry if I am being too strongly opinionated about this. Maybe I should’ve kept my ideas to myself. 🙁

That said I wonder if it would help me pin down whatever she’s sensitive to. Make sense? Not sure I’d even start treatment with her but wonder if it would helP from a diagnostic perspective.

August 23, 2012 at 4:13 pm #70851hellbenntKeymasterI tend to agree…but I also know what it’s like to be desperate!
we did bodytalk – DO NOT DO THIS!!! it’s QUACKERY!I’ve heard good things about craneosacral massage and also chirporactors (I took ds to chiropractor, and, while it didn’t seem to help, it certainly didn’t hurt!) -
