Dagney started “commando” crawling today! Hurray!! She’s been moving around for a while by kind of scooting and rolling all over the place, but today she finally started to commando crawl!! I put her in the living room on a blanket with toys while I went to the kitchen to get her bottle, and then I heard “thud thud thud”, it was her feet on the hardwood floors–about 2 feet away from the blanket! Then she started to come towards me! I was so excited! She was moving a lot faster than on the carpet because of the slippery floors, but she’s finally on the move! The downside is since my floors are always dirty, her clothes will be filthy, I’m sure…and now we have to get some gates put up!!

Well done for Dagney. Just let her wear more black…you won’t notice the dirt so much. Or better still, maybe tape a mop to her belly and she can start helping you with the housework

That’s fantastic!!! I’m glad I’m not the only one with the dirty floor problem! I’m embarrassed sometimes how dirty Sarah gets INSIDE my house!!!

YEAH Dagney.

Yet again, our little ones are on the same schedule. Ben’s just started moving a bit himself. He gets up on all fours and shoves himself forward then flops on his belly, gets up and tries again, usually moving backwards. Pretty funny to watch. The commando crawl would be so much easier on him.

Yah Ben! Dagney does that too. She gets on all 4’s, rocks a bit, then throws herself forward, then she’ll do her commando crawl, which my husband actually described it better as more of a breast stroke on dry land. Her arms and legs both are moving/kicking, but her tummy’s still on the ground!

And she’s trying to pull up on things already!!

I was thinking we should get Ben and Dagney together, but then I thought they may be TOO much alike and could clash over control of the blocks…
