How long can I safely give my 14 month old Mylanta Cherry Supreme? I started giving it to him at 10:30 at night and wow what a difference. He is finally having poopy diapers that look normal and not gagging and vomiting in the morning. I dont see the GI again till the end of the month and his nurse is impossible to work with. Am I Ok to continue giving it to him every night till then?

(He is already on Prevacid.. 15mg at 6 am and 15 mg at 5 pm. The GI wont add in another at bedtime so I tried Mylanta instead)

I think it’s pretty safe idenfinitley bcse there isn’t any aluminum? not sure.

as for another dose at night: do you have any zantac around?

or you could use pepcid ac chewables- use half a tablet and dissolve in some water- pepcid dose is here, this link, so you can check the dose:

(the default is 6 months & newer) – this way you can learn from all the past posters who might not be here anymore bcse their babies are much better

Thank you so much for the info. Can I crush the Zantac and put it in water or does it need to be compounded? I dont recall seeing it in a liquid form at the store. Looks like the Pepcid might work if I cant get my hands on the liquid Zantac. Thanks again for the info! I hope I can return the favor to another mom some day.

not sure about crushing OTC zantac? would probably taste nasty?

the liquid is a prescription.

pepcid ac comes as chewables so easily dissolves…
