I read somewhere on these posts that mucous in the stool can indicate a form of constipation. Does anyone know anything about that? If so, could you please explain?
i think it was me that mentioned mucous and constipation together. constipation can cause mucous in the stool. i don’t think it is any particular problem except that it can just be caused by the constipation.
If it is a loose stool with mucous strings in it (sorry for the graphic-ness) then it is possibly an intolerance. Landen had that with blood as well and he is MSPI. I guess if the stool is hard with mucous it could be constipation like Christine mentioned.
When you started Neocate/Elecare, those stools went away? My 5 week old son has been on Neocate for 3 weeks and still has diarrhea??? And, the Zantac makes it worse!
Yes, Landen improved and those stools went away. it took a few weeks, but each day from the day we started was better than the day before. I saw your other post. I’d def have his stools checked for Giardia and C-diff as well as anything else they would recommend for chronic diarrhea. I am so sorry you are gonig through this!
