So I was terribly hoping that E was really going to only have issues with milk/soy…(hahahaha).

She’s been doing great on the Neocate and is a total chuncker–over 18lbs at 6 months! The prevacid has been working great, so the GI said to start solids since she’s drinking over 50oz/day.

Well, we started slow. Reaction to bananas. Reaction to squash. Possible reaction to oatmeal.

I just feel like tossing it in for another two months.

Does it always need to be complicated? (On a positive note, it looks like Maryland will force insurance companies to start covering Neocate Oct. 1st. Just in time to move on to Neocate 1+)

Oh I know how you feel! It isn’t fun. Paige wasn’t able to tolerate ANY solids until well after her first birthday, and she still can’t tolerate much. Perhaps give her a couple more months of Neocate only to let her gut mature a little more, then try again. At least you know she’s getting enough nutrition from all the Neocate she’s drinking! Hang in there.

I agree with Sheri. Dylan was over a year as well before he could tolerate. He was just severely intolerant, screamed A LOT with digestion of foods, etc….

I would give it a bit more time.

My ds is 1 week older than your little one. 2 weeks ago we tried solids also. It was a complete disaster. I totally feel your pain. And thank goodness my insurance covers Elecare! I am glad to hear that yours will soon. Good for your state!

Yup, we had to wait to do solids here too. I also have an MFPI baby. He could do oatmeal only at 6.5 months. he just couldn’t do much of anything else. I think we could do pears, apples and sweet potatoes (homemade) by the end of the 7th month. He had a boring diet for a LONG time. He eats tons of things now, as long as it is dairy/soy/rice free, so hang in there!

p.s. not sure what’s up with banana and squash but landen still cannot have it. he can’t do carrots either!!!
