Hi,
I pulled this from page ‘6’ for you of the pediatricians/specialists. It came from ‘Justice’smom’ you can always PM her if you have any questions about it. I hope this helps!!!Nashville-Brentwood Tn
Dr peter Swarr at Coolsprings Internal medicine
He is not our dr, but in the same practice as our dr and he is actually the one along with dr Phillips that got Justice dr to prescribe the right dose of zegerid. He is willing to learn and really listens to his patients as well as really respects his patients doing their own research. He is a family dr.
August 12, 2008 at 12:11 pm #55260AnonymousInactiveI would definantly still recommend Dr. Swarr. He is now not only my boys dr, but he is now our family dr. too. I can’t remember him ever rushing me, but you can always let him know on the front end as soon as he walks or when you make the appt. that you have a lot to say and have a lot of questions. I know he might try to get you to do an h2 blocker first, but if you go in with the marci-kids info I think he will be more likely to do the ppi and possibly even zegerid. I would be very suprised though if he told you to let your baby outgrow it. I think he has seen enough adult patients dealing with it that he knows how painful it can be. It always suprises me when I hear about a dr. tellling a parent to let a baby outgrow. I mean they would NEVER say that to an adult. As a matter of fact they take an adult having reflux very seriously. I will say though that we have had our first sons ped tell us to let him outgrow the reflux and do no meds. Actually all of what your doing now is exactly what our fist sons ped recommended. I wouldn’t be suprised at all if your even seeing the same ped that we saw. Please pm me if you need any help. It is my mission to help as many moms and babies going through this as I possibly can. Dr. Swarr’s number is 376-8195 and you can let him know that I recommended you. My real name is Rochelle Myers. I’m not sure if that would help or not, but it’s worth a shot. Please let me know how it goes if you do go see him.
August 14, 2008 at 12:19 am #55331AnonymousInactiveI took Jonas to the Cool Springs clinic today…I was originally scheduled to take him in on Monday to see Dr. Swarr but today i decided it couldn’t wait that long so I took him and saw another Dr. instead. I was very pleased with the way the visit went and I will not be taking him back to the Ped. that he was seeing. After explaining everything we have gone through up to now he prescribed prevacid for Jonas and also referred us to a specialist for his umbilical hernia, which he says is way too big to go back in on it’s own and he will probably need surgery to put it back in. The ped. he was seeing said it was nothing to worry about and will go back in on it’s own when he starts walking. Today I was told if it isn’t corrected he could have serious problems like bowel obstruction and other bad things…it could even rupture! I can’t believe I was taking him to such an incompetent Dr. At least I caught it in time and only put up with her for a short while. I swear they think I’m crazy because everytime I called there to ask a question I felt like I was annoying them and they didn’t seem to take me very seriously, like I was some overprotective mother who thinks there is always something wrong with their child..and they are very nonchalant about everything. I am so glad I found this forum and got some advice from other moms who are going through or have gone through the same thing. Thank you for the referral Rochelle! Hopefully things will get better from here on out.

My appt isn’t until July!! This doctor is super popular. He’s booked all the way out. My Jaya is already feeling much better, so I think I will cancel my appt. Maybe we have survived the nasty part of reflux? I hope this lasts…
Best of luck to you.
My pediatrician has been awesome with us. No problem with dosages, etc. She is Dr. Kristin Koush with Texas Childrens’ Ped Assoc over on Greenbriar. She’ll do if your baby doesn’t need all the testing done. You’ll need the Ped GI for that. Otherwise, she was extremely patient and caring. I have to say that we saw her every single week in March; sometimes twice a week and she was so good with us everytime.
How’s your sweet baby doing?Mandy

I know this is an older post, but I wanted to add:
I’ve seen Dr. Koush and she’s awesome as well. Along with Dr. Koush, there’s doctor Kinalsky with the same group. They’re great.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~posted by ImHis, page 12 (of this thread) : HoustonUT Physicians….any of the pedi GI’s. I use Dr Debroy but I hear they are all good.
I left Texas Childrens and went to them. VERY glad we did.hellbennt2012-01-23 19:15:22

Dr. Phyllis Agran -Ped GI in Orange CA affiliated w/CHOC and UCIDecember 13, 2009 at 3:30 pm #65103AnonymousInactiveThis is for a pedi in south houston area…. Pearland….
Her name is Dr sl*gle with Pearland Pediatrics. After coming to this forums and seeing the Macr Kids website, I was very interested in trying Zegerid medication. When I called the office, they had never heard of it but she was willing to look at the information on the Marci Kids website. I was so thankful when she said she was willing to let us try it! It has worked wonders for us and it is no nice to have a pedi that is willing to listen to me and not be afraid to give this a try!Love this office.

Dr Escalera.. PED GIvery good dosages!! 😉January 5, 2010 at 9:06 pm #65361AnonymousInactiveI noticed that a few others mentioned Dr. Gregory Kobak in the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area. We saw him a few weeks ago and were so pleased by how compassionate and thorough he was. He truly cares about the little patients and is committed to finding a solution.
I did find out today, though, that he will not prescribe Zegerid for my baby. The Zantac and Prilosec aren’t doing it, but I couldn’t get in to see him any earlier than our follow-up in 3 months!! So I faxed a letter explaining what was happening and asking to go on Zegerid (including a bunch of info from the MARCI-Kids site), but the nurse called back today and said no-go. He won’t go higher than standard dosing, either, without a pH probe and/or endoscopy. I’m bummed, but I still think he’s wonderful. It’s a relief to find a doctor with a terrific bedside manner with both babies and their parents.January 20, 2010 at 6:12 pm #65599AnonymousInactiveviridian1 wrote:
