Dr Lyn Hunt
Cook’s Childrens Hospital – GI Clinic
So far – She is wonderful. She listened to everything I said and did just exactly what I expected (after researching). 100 pounds has been lifted off my shoulders! Yea!
You can e-mail me for her phone and address
We use one of her partners, Dr. Nicholas Ogunmola. We’ve been seening him for nearly a year now. He is fantastic. Very helpful. Really cares for his patients.
We LOVE all the Cook docs. Aidan’s surgeon is also a Cook doc.
July 6, 2007 at 5:13 pm #38726hellbenntKeymasterthe followiing is from Traci- she allowed me to quote her in the MSPI forum (Misconceptions about Elemental Formula) & sent me the following:Specialists in EGID:Good news for anyone who is military on your forum. They can request to be sent to Walter Reed. The GI and Allergy departments there are just as good as going to the EGID speciality clinic (only one of it’s kind) in Cincinnati to see Dr. Putnam. Please pass that on to any who might be interested. As for civilian, I can only speak personally for Dr. Putnam at CCHMC’s EGID speciality clinic. Their facility is without a doubt the leading one in the field of researching, diagnosing and treating EGID.The second most visited facility was in Boston, however, the doctor that was there is now at Denver Children’s as the Chief of Ped. GI. His name is Dr. Furuta. He is equally as good at diagnosing EGID, however his approach to treating it involves more medication and less food elimination.CHOP’s Ped. GI dept. also has a good working knowledge of EGID. There is specificially at Dr. Liacirious (sp?) there who is good with this disease. There is a clinic in Chiago and one in San Diego both at their children’s hospitals which are attempting to “specialize” in allergic GI diseases. I haven’t heard of specific doctors, but they might be worth a try.My best recommendations are Dr. Putnam and Walter Reed for those with military benefits.August 27, 2007 at 12:01 pm #41768AnonymousInactiveKansas City MO
We were referred to Dr. Jose Cocjin at Children’s Mercy Outpatient GI Clinic…he was great!
http://www.childrens-mercy.org/content/view.aspx?id=133
Explained everything very well and was more than willing to try any medication that is recommended on the MARCI-Kids website.
(We’re starting with Prevacid Solutabs, but was more than willing to try Zegarid as well!)
He didn’t want to do an upper GI unless I wanted him to and/or unless my DS’s condition changed for the worse. It was definitely a good appointment and I would highly recommend him.

We have a great pedi GI (after going throug several) but she’s also in the DC area. Dr. Yulia Rehktman at Georgetown U. Hospital. She also sees patients in Rockville. She’s ok with the marci-kids dosing (in fact, she suggested it!) and in the know about mspi, which my baby is, big time.
good luck

They come here once or twice a month. How great is that? They also have office in Colorado Springs, Colorado.April 15, 2008 at 8:12 pm #50395hellbenntKeymasterApril 19, 2008 at 6:22 pm #50617AnonymousInactiveBAD GI in NYC = Stephen Schwartz. Rude, demeaning, thinks the internet is horrible, and will NEVER EVER prescribe a PPI.
GREAT Pediatrician in NYC = Dr Cathy Ward. Knowledgeable, great bedside manner, very into the mother’s intuition, loves Prevacid, loved the idea of Marci-kids when I brought it up. She was used to giving a lower dose of Prevacid solutabs, but may think differently after she looks up the website (which she was excited to do.) Knew a lot about milk allergy/intolerance and prescribed Neocate. She liked the fact that I had done research on behalf of my child, and she emphasized that weight gain isn’t the only thing to look for in my baby – quality of life is just as important.

Try Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition of Tampa Bay (Dr Arasu, Williams and Cuenca)P-(813) 870 4438F-(813) 870 4153Dr. Arasu is very nice and that is who we saw- you have to push a little esp with meds, but he listensEveryone likes Dr. Williams and he is VERY VERY hard to get in to see. I never got to see him, you can try though.Dr. Cuenca is also always booked up.You can PM me if you have any other questions.July 7, 2008 at 9:27 am #53451AnonymousInactivekdub wrote: bump

He has like 5 different offices in Colorado and a couple in NM and WY. From what a nurse at Childrens told me, he is like the “God” of ped GIs in Colorado. All of the other ped GIs respect him and his opinions. The only bad part-he won’t do a Marci-kids dose of PPIs.August 8, 2008 at 1:30 pm #55195AnonymousInactiveIf anyone is wondering, Dr Jack (Jae-Koo) An is still fantastic with Digestive Health Associates of Texas in Dallas and Plano-loved him! Took time to care for my child, and my own worries!
August 8, 2008 at 2:39 pm #55201AnonymousInactiveDr. Michael Wilsey in Tampa/St. Pete is great. He took a long time to listen to our concerns & was proactive w/o being too aggresive.
He doesn’t do marci-kids dosing though. We went through our general ped for that. -
