We took Isaac for developmental testing a few days ago. He only had 2 things that they say are issues at this point: He sits on his right hip all of the time with one leg tucked behind him and one straight out if front of him. They say that this is an issue b/c if he continues then he will start leaning his head to the right and one leg will be longer than the other. The other issue is that he will only use his right hand so they told us to occasionally hold the right arm down and make him use the left hand. For the sitting issue they discussed physical therapy but they said at Isaac’s age he will just get frustrated and it probably won’t help. For now they told us to move his legs so they are both facing the same way. If it continues for 2 more months we have to bring him back in and they will start therapy with him. Otherwise he was right up to par on everything and advanced in cognitive areas!
In other news we went on a mini vacation to Gatlinburg, TN and it was wonderful. He eat more than usual and was in a great mood. We went to the aquarium and Isaac really loved the fish and seeing other babies! My dh and I feel like so much stress has been lifted from us (for the time being).
We started to fight the insurance again to get them to pay for Isaac’s nutramigen. So far they are dragging their feet but i am calling them like crazy! I know i only have 3 1/2 more months on formula but it is so expensive.
Isaac got tooth #8 finally! I kept thinking it was coming through but it kept going back down. This time it really is out!
Thank you to everyone who made it through my long post!

March 6, 2006 at 10:45 am #3096AnonymousInactivesylvia used to sit on one leg and use the other leg to pull herself along. we thought it was quite cute, we’d never seen a child do that before. when she did it in sand, kevin said she was leaving a “worm” trail behind her. her legs are fine and she walks fine. your son is only 9 months old—don’t get too excited about how he is sitting or using his hands yet—-kids do so many weird and different things when they are little that just disappear with time. i am wondering why you had his developement tested???

So glad that the trip was so much fun!! ALso happy about the test results because it seems that they are just things that will correct themselves with time.
I know it is so easy to worry… matthew stopped babbling the last 10 days and i am going insane about it… but will speak to my ped tomorrow. I do think the internet is dangerous…
